A. E. Vela, He is currently a Mechanical Engineering Ph.D. student at Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the application of optimization and control theory for air traffic systems, Berkeley in 2003, and the M, 2006.

B. John-paul and S. B. Clarke-received-the, He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Aerospace Engineering and director of the Air Transportation Laboratory at Georgia Institute of Technology His research addresses issues in optimization and robustness in aircraft and airline operations, air traffic management and the environmental impact of aviation. Nicolas Durand graduated from thé Ecole Polytechnique de Paris in 1990 and from the Ecole Nationale de l'Aviation Civile (ENAC) in 1992. He has been a design engineer at the Centre d'Etudes de la Navigation Aérienne (CENA) from, He is currently in charge of the air traffic Planning, Optimization and Modeling team of the R&D department of DSNA, 1991.

E. William, Singhose received the B.S. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1990, the M.S. degree from Stanford University in 1992, and the Ph.D. degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Mechanical Engineering in 1997. He is currently an Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr, Singhose's research focuses on the dynamics and control of flexible machines
